Bodegas Frontonio
Valdejalón, Spain
Bodegas Frontonio work with sustainably cultivated, dry-farmed bush vines in traditional mountain vineyards. Their wines are crafted in small quantities and aged in historic caves. Saint Frontonio, a martyr whose decapitated head was found going upriver, symbolises Frontonio’s spirit of swimming against the tide.
Our Range
Overview
A proud micro-winery creating unique, scintillating wines.
Mountain vines, a cave, and a dream: to bring back a tradition. Bodegas Frontonio do not want rules; they trust the land, grapes, and their senses.
The wines are made in a 200-year old house with an underground cave, allowing Frontonio to leverage the effects of gravity to process the grapes as gently as possible, as well as benefitting from the naturally cool environment and its optimal humidity for wine ageing.
