Viña Leyda is focused on producing fresh, mineral, and elegant wines with character and identity, that reflect the cool marine influence of the Chilean coastline, as well as the unique characteristics of Leyda Valley’s terroir and micro-terroirs.
A boutique approach makes sure that delicate techniques are carried out, with early harvests to guarantee a fresh-fruit profile of herbal character with low alcohol. Gentle vinification is carried out, avoiding over extraction in reds. In whites, the freshness and high acidity unique to the valley is preserved by avoiding malolactic fermentation.
Little barrel aging is used, with a preference for casks, concrete tanks, and stainless steel, to obtain mineral, fresh, elegant wines that honestly express the cool coastal climate.
